Andrew Brice — Senior Associate

Andrew joined ATRS in 2010 following an extensive career in the Australian rail industry with organisations such as Queensland Rail prior to forming his Brisbane based rail training business "Operational Learning Solutions".

 

Safety, rail operational, and training positions held by Andrew include train driver, train controller and as Manager Learning and Development responsible for managing the Queensland Rail training and operational projects, and consulting for national and international rail based projects.  Using his extensive network safeworking rules background, Andrew was primarily responsible for managing the development and delivery of train controller, train driver and infrastructure track worker training and qualifications to national standards.

 

Andrew has extensive experience in all forms of railway operational procedures, standards and various network safeworking rules and brings extensive experience in the rail industry to your company to assist in the management of rail operations on your network or procedural development support for your project.

 

Through his ATRS alliance company Operational Learning Solutions (OLS), Andrew has  attained Registered Training Organisation (RTO) accreditation status and continues to manage the day-to-day requirements to retain and improve all the associated training policies and procedures to maintain the RTO status.

 

The training and development functions being delivered by Andrew include the following:

 

 Role profiling aligned with industry specific competencies;

 Develop recommendations from job functional analysis to identify the appropriate units of competency to be applied;

 Align the job role with the appropriate functional competencies;

 Develop learning and development strategies and methodologies to enable the client business to comply with its legislative obligations;

Andrew's operational and training expertise will (when required) improve and maintain client staff skill sets, enhance personal development, facilitate the development of a broad range of training and development products utilising adult learning methodologies, develop competency based learning and assessment products, train and assess staff, assist staff to gain nationally recognised training certification, and minimise any client cost overtraining by identifying and focussing on specific skills gap training.

 

Formal qualifications held by Andrew include a Certificate IV in Rail Operations, and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.  Andrew has also completed the Lead Auditor Training Course conducted by SAI Global and other short courses in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, and Management System Auditing.

 

The demonstrated extensive operational training and development experience and project management expertise of Andrew will provide a solution to any client training and development need in delivering effective, competent and cost effective outcomes to suit any business need.
