ATRS is pleased to present Mr Ian Naish as a Senior International Safety Consultant specialising in transportation based safety systems, policy, regulation and investigation.
Based in Canada, Ian Naish retired from his position as Director of Rail Investigations at the Transportation Safety Board of Canada in June 2009, after more than eleven years in that post. Ian’s previous experience in the rail safety area consisted of eight years at Transport Canada’s Railway Safety Directorate as Chief of Policy, Regulations and Standards. Ian also served for five years in the rail regulatory area of Canada as Senior Level Crossing Design Engineer.
In 1997, while at Transport Canada, Ian Naish was presented with the Deputy Minister’s Award for Excellence and in 2006, at the Transportation Safety Board, Ian was presented with the Executive Director’s Excellence in Leadership Award.
Ian holds a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from London University, a Master’s Degree in Transportation Engineering from the University of New Brunswick and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. Ian is also a Professional Engineer and lives in Ottawa Canada with his wife and children.
Following his retirement from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, Ian has commenced a new career as a transportation safety consultant and joined an association with ATRS as a senior international consultant available for specialist work in Australasia. |
