David Sutherland — Senior Associate

David Sutherland is a highly respected Risk Management Consultant with over 45 years experience in the field of occupational health & safety, electrical and mechanical engineering, and risk management.

 

In recent years, David has held the position of Integrated Systems Manager for a major national rail contractor working in the fields of Rail Safety, OH&S, Quality Assurance, and Environmental Management systems.  In this role, David was directly responsible for successfully achieving the organisation’s accreditation under the AS/NZS/ISO 9001, AS 4292, AS 4801 and AS/NZS/ISO 14001 Australian Standards certification.

 

In addition to the above David was responsible for the development and implementation of an innovative joint venture initiative with a major occupational healthcare facility which resulted in substantial reductions in workers compensation premiums and liabilities, while achieving improved employee health standards.

 

David has worked with the Australasian rail transport industry through his active membership and participation in the Rail Industry Safety & Standards Board (RISSB) Rolling Stock Steering Committee and associated Code Development Committee. 

 

David’s skill set of electrical and mechanical engineering experience combined with his knowledge of track infrastructure and rolling stock construction and maintenance is available to provide clients with a value adding service package.

 

David is based in Perth, Western Australia, and a valued member of the ATRS risk management and safety team.
