Warren Sallis — Senior Associate

Warren joined ATRS in 2009 following an extensive career in the Australian rail industry with organisations such as the WA Government Rail Authority Westrail, the National Rail Corporation, and Pacific National Pty Ltd.

 

The experience and competencies held by Warren range from train management as a Locomotive Driver and driver training and assessment as a Driver Trainer, through to regional operations management as a Driver Specialist, Regional Operations Manager, and Freight Terminal Operations Manager.

 

Most recently Warren has held the senior positions of Operations Manager Bulk Rail with Pacific National, Terminal Operations Manager Newcastle also with Pacific National, and Operations Manager (Junee/Parkes) with the National Rail Corporation.

 

Warren has extensive operational safeworking network rules and procedural experience, and is a long term supporter of the rail industry strategic policy and direction in the development of a national rule book to suit the industry needs of improved safety and greater efficiency.

 

Warren is an acknowledged rail industry expert in OH&S and Rail Safety legislation and regulations and their respective application across all Australian States and the Northern Territory, and is a long term safety leader having a proven track record in promoting and leading safety change towards achieving a hero harm risk management environment.

 

Other specific outcome areas successfully managed by Warren include the implementation of safety observation programs, permit to work, lookout and isolation procedures, injury and incident management standards, and incident management and disruption recovery management tools.

 

Warren is a Graduate of Deakin University with a Certificate of Management, in addition to a Graduate Diploma of Management and a Graduate Certificate of Corporate Management also from Deakin University. 

 

Warren also holds qualifications in OH&S Supervisor Management from NSW WorkCover, Comcare Case Management from Comcare Australia, Certificate IV Training & Assessment from the Newcastle Business College, Maintaining Quality Systems, and System Safety Accident Investigation including the Incident Causation & Affects Model (ICAM).

 

The demonstrated wide ranging rail industry experience, customer service and project management expertise of Warren will assist any client in gaining the best possible project outcome to suit the client needs.
