ATRS is pleased to introduce Greg Turner as a company specialist consultant in freight logistics, rail operations and terminals management including all aspects of transport security and counter terrorism risk management.
Greg has in excess of 11 years extensive experience in the Australian rail transport industry managing a number of Pacific National freight rail terminals and linehaul operations including bulk coal operations in NSW and South Australia and general freight logistics in Victoria. Positions held by Greg during this period with Pacific National include General Manager General Freight, Manager Southern Coal, and Operations Manager Leigh Creek.
Greg has a proven business record in achieving major organisational change including job re-design, negotiation for the new enterprise agreements, reduced transport and warehousing costs, increasing EBIT, and making significant improvement to the company bottom line.
Greg is also experienced in rail terminal planning and performance, and in all aspects of the associated rail safety, OH&S, environmental, security and investigation legislative obligations and responsibilities.
Prior to joining the rail industry in 1999, Greg held senior operations management positions with Linfox Transport having responsibility for the management of transport and warehousing for major clients such as Caltex, Castrol, and BP.
During this period Greg held the day-to-day responsibility for managing the Linfox safety and environmental aspects when transporting the dangerous goods products for the client.
Greg also served for a number of years in the Australian Defence Force within the Army Intelligence Corps as a Security and Intelligence Warrant Officer where he held a variety of responsibilities for strategic sites including security planning, threat analysis, and the implementation of counter terrorism risk mitigation strategies.
Most recently, Greg has completed a range of major project consultant activities for both Interfleet Technology, and the Xstrata Mining Group.
Greg is a graduate of the University of Virginia (USA) with an Associate Diploma of Information Management. Other qualifications held by Greg include ISO 9000 Quality Assurance Lead Auditor, OH&S 9002 Safety Compliance Lead Auditor, Developing an Enterprise Agreement, Rail Track Safety Awareness, and Authorised Drug and Alcohol Testing Officer training. Greg is also a trained accident investigator having completed the System Safety Accident Investigation training program inclusive of the Incident Causation and Affects Model (ICAM).
