Peter Went — Senior Associate

ATRS is pleased to present senior associate Peter Went as its resident environmental science, environmental compliance, and environmental sustainability specialist consultant.

 

Peter has an extensive background in pure and applied sciences including Mathematics, Chemistry, Ecology, Hydrobiology, Environmental Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Food and Beverage Engineering and Horticultural Engineering.

 

Peter has extensive experience as an environmental consultant to a variety of businesses from small enterprises to trans-national companies in which he has successfully designed and implemented a range of Environmental Management Systems.

 

Peter’s experience with these systems in recent years includes environmental auditing, analysis, development, policy-writing, associated training package development, training delivery and training assessment to satisfy client business needs, corporate governance obligations, and achieve regulatory compliance.

 

Peter also has extensive experience in the development of quality programs (including HACCP) and has helped businesses improve product quality and reduce waste.  In addition, the integration of these programs by Peter with OHS programs significantly simplified the enterprise’s management and reduced overhead costs.

 

Additional specialist areas where Peter has had success include the Australian wine industry in projects such as winery engineering and design, winery management systems, winery process design, wine analysis, vineyard management, business modelling and appraisal, and energy resource management.

 

Experience as a teacher in the NSW TAFE system has also provided Peter with teaching competence across a range of industrial subjects and in educational administration.  Peter has also developed and delivered many training programs over the years for individual client businesses.

 

Peter Went has attained a wide range of academic qualifications through his career including a BSc(Hons) from the University of Sydney, a BAppSc from Charles Sturt University, a DipEd from the University of Sydney, and a Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment.  Peter is also a Smarttrain Chemical Program Certified Trainer, and a Confined Spaces Certified Specialist.

 

Peter joined the ATRS group in 2008 and is available to assist clients in the delivery of a range of value adding consultancy services.
